Image description
For as long as man has done science he has looked to find the fundamental workings behind everything. Depicted here is a particle accelerator where one of the aims is to better understand the fundamental nature of how particles move and hence, in essence try and recreate from the base up things in the universe like the sun. This striving for the fundamentals caused the entire history of science and I am sure will continue to lead science into the future.
Description of how this image was created
The making of this picture was fairly simple although took a little maths to calculate methods of creating lovely 8 fold symmetry. I am not entirely happy with the sun however despite many many renderings with different uses of media I couldnt get it to look any better. If there is anything else please ask.

I did a few 'looking down a tube' images a few years ago, but yours has more of a story than ever did.
