Image description
The Welsh dragon hatchling seems already quite attracted by shiny things. Older dragons are known for collecting gold and jewels within their lair, the reason for this behavior remains still unknown.
Description of how this image was created
Day one:
(Re)reading all of Steve's former post within the POV-Ray newsgroups (and looking at all the images he did ever post). Making a few scribbles on what did come to my mind as a tribute.
Day two:
Drinking a few cups of coffee and finally making the decision to give the Fabergé-egg-theme a try. (I was also quite tempted to do something with the Welsh-love-spoon-theme.)
First I made the "eggs" (without looking at Steve's anymore to avoid a simple copy) and then the fun part. morphing the MD2 into a hatchling and posing it (while drinking more coffee as it was already quite late).
Day three:
Waiting for the render (only global illumination with quite insane radiosity settings) to finish and submitting the result.
Due RealLive(tm) issues my time was (again) *very* limited and I'm not very happy with the result but to show my appreciation for all the work Steve did put into this contest I just had to submit a "tribute to Steve".

[SMcA] Love the concept of using objects close to Steve.
