Image description
A literal interpretation of the theme; an infinite plane of clocks.
Description of how this image was created
I modelled the clock using CSG, and then wrote a macro so I could create clocks with different times. Then I wrote a loop to place clocks randomly on a plane and to avoid any collisions.
Rendered using focal blur, an area point light and an area spotlight to provide a highlight. Gimp was then used to create the jpeg.
The clock is loosely based on my old WestClox “Baby Ben” alarm clock.

Love this image! Close to real for me. One thing that might improve it is to bevel those sharp edges on the clocks.

Frankly, the concept is a bit too straightforward. However the technical execution is very convincing.

Some beveling of the corners, maybe? Aside from that, technically flawless. Conceptually and artistically not that strong though.
