Image description
I read 'clocks' by Jerome K. Jerome and I did a literal scene from the story. My image is simply someone checking the accuracy of a clock with a mind of it's own.
Description of how this image was created
this image was created with blender. It is mostly fairly basic shapes and the textures are mostly image maps . I used blenders cloth simulation to distort a cylinder for the sleeve. The arm is positioned this way so that I didn't have to model a hand (too hard).

Comments by members when rating this image
1.   25-02-2009 The modelling and texturing is quite good and the is render artefact free but the composition seems off - currently the eye is drawn to the (very nice) table and the green blind. (I know you were trying to avoid the hand but...) Also the shouldn't the watch have glass on it? The watch face seems to be grey cardboard.
2.   23-02-2009 Good atmosphere and nice details. I think the weave of the tissue should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
3.   23-02-2009 I can't really comment on how well it matches the story. The fabric could use some bump mapping to make it look less flat. The floor look ok but the repeated pattern gives it away as not being natural. Lack of detail on the grandfather clock makes it look too simple. The fireplace, or I believe it is a fireplace has an awful texture. More 'stuff' needs to be in this room.
4.   18-02-2009 Arm position looks somewhat awkward. Wallpaper texture looks a bit oversized, and marble texture very much so, while the parquetry texture looks a bit undersized. The grandfather clock is a bit small for my taste. Sleeve cloth texture should be rotated by 90 deg for realism. Some more detail work would have been of benefit for the picture.
5.   15-02-2009 The style reminds me of Magritte.
