Image description
A modern creature as seen from a protective environment.
Description of how this image was created
This was quite an experiment for me.
The gothic window is inspired on a cathedral in Limoges, France, I converted the photo into a vector drawing and generated the bitmaps for the leadwork in the stained glass (the design of which is mine - not Limoges'). The stained glass itself consists of another 3 bitmaps.
The 30, St Marys building, was created entirely with povray elements, and measures were gleaned off the little info on the 'net. The simulation really looks quite nice by itself.
The complexity of the scene, after adding the St Marys building, caused a secondary problem with povray, which I couldn't solve yet. The beta 3.7 gave up even earlier, and didn't even
render the stained glass completely .
Finally - after finding the culprit of the transparency problem (disable light_buffer), I added just a touch of (out-of-)focus effect to the window.

Artistic is good, nice curves and colors. You still seem to have yet another calibration problem. Everything is way too dark for me.

Beautiful image. I've never tried stained glass myself, but this certainly inspires me.

Interesting as an abstract piece, but I don't think that was the intent. It's difficult to tell that this is supposed to be stained glass.
I wasn't familiar with the building we're supposed to be looking at so I looked it up. Looking closely I can see that you probably did a pretty good job with it (I'd be interested in seeing it by itself). It's quite a unique building. That's where I think you did well technically.
I like the design of the leadwork on the stained glass, but none of the textures seem right.

The stained glass is nice and all and gives a little colour. Unfortunately is hide the other important part of the picture. The contrast part. With the busy pattern of the stained glass it is too hard to see the modern dingdong building in behind. Toning down the blue so that it doesn't break up the background as much would make it clearer IMO.
Nice work on the stained glass window. Looks wonderful.

In all honesty I didn't quite follow how you did this but it has produced a nice end result. Overall it is a nice image as it is trying to be nothing more than really artistic.

I am not entirely sure how this covers the topic, but it is a beautiful image in itself with a well-balanced composition and color spectrum.

I quite like the stained glass window. The organic curves and designs are lovely; I imagine they were rather tricky to model.
Unfortunately, the picture appears rather dark to me. I tried recalibrating my monitor, but I think a lot of the subtle colors are lost with the lack of lighting.
Also, the building outside detracted from the image for me. I can't really tell what it is (I had to look up the St Marys building online). It's a cool building, but combined with the window, I think both lose a lot in translation.
