Image description
"Umbra" is the name given to the darkest part of the shadow cast by one celestial body onto another.
Description of how this image was created
I used only spheres and the template blob to make all the objects, the "wrinkle" pattern was heavily used. Spheres make up all the stars, randomly placed in a spherical pattern around the camera. Photoshop was used to add the lens flare and scale. The sun is my secret ;)

1.   29-04-2008 Nice ring fragments and sun. Good contrast.
2.   27-04-2008 Very convincing space feeling. The planet surface would benefit from a more complex texture.
3.   21-04-2008 I like this except for the lens flare. It is too circular for my taste.
4.   20-04-2008 I liked the technical side of this - nice image.
5.   19-04-2008 This is a nice example of different planet/moon interactions and technically, it is well done (Sun? No secrets permitted!! ;-) ) However, I have a little trouble to relate this entirely to the topic. The nearest planet could use a bit of atmosphere I guess.
