Image description
I'm not sure where this is, perhaps hot and sunny Canada or Scotland. I'll leave that to you. Searching 'Landscapes' in Google images produces some amazing scenes, but to me, they all seem pretty much the same, so I thought I'd just produce an image where the image just develops as I go along. I wanted more trees in the scene but this is the first image I've produced where I've had to take models out because of memory/performance problems. (Where's that Quadcore shop?) ;) Anyway, it kind of reminds me of my youth as I was brought up in countryside like this.
Description of how this image was created
All models are new except for the dead tree and bird, and modeled in Wings. I think I've learnt something about texturing from mapping my own Crysis maps in the new CE2 editor, and that's mainly to get the scaling right, and using the correct/best image-map for whatever you're texturing. Not sure if I've achieved this or not, but it was fun putting this image together.

1.   25-02-2008 Ground & rocks are strong, trees middling, sky weak. Viewpoint flat - if I were "there" with my camera, there are more interesting angles to be used.
