It was about time I figured out how a picture could stand out without any story.

It took a while before breezing through the test.

Refreshing and current enough.

Description of how this image was created

I think the limit of my system regarding photorealism has been reached. Could you honestly have ever imagined OpenGL to be that powerful? Ambient occlusion was a major missing feature, and was essential in such a lighting condition, avoiding filling point lights. Some shadow patches were necessary though.

Quite a bit of cheating here and there for nicer effects (dirt in panes, etc). But who cares as long as the pixels reveal what they should? As a result, some models are not even 3D, but can one actually tell what is fake from what is not? Is it really noticeable?

Sometimes laziness requires cleverness, and for me, only the result really matters.

Don't miss the numerous connotations (curtains representing green energy, etc.) following various looping paths. You may see what I didn't see yet. The overall idea went much better than expected, and seems to have endless depth. Even the perspective of the composition suggests that.

Do you like the table-fan / flower / weathervane funnel?

The handle of the coffee mill is the ballon bag of "Plain ground". A triangle is possible between this coffee mill, the windmill and the hand-held fan. There is a circular loop, and interestingly enough, the fan is already a triangle and a circle.

1.   30-10-2009 So it seems you have covered every square inch with some object. Believe me, less would have looked better, especially without some 'weaker' object (like the windmill, I do not buy its lighting or the radio or whatever it might be, it looks just like a box with some image map). On the other hand the curtain looks absolutely great. Another detail to care about: the rotor blades ouside have all the same position. -Ive
2.   24-10-2009 "Unfortunately the scene is too busy for my taste. There is too much to look at and that distracts from the overall appearance, IMO. SMcA "
3.   20-10-2009 [ThomdeG] Although I like this image a lot, I feel that the sheer amount of wind catchers is somewhat cluttering up the compositional concept. The plains are hidden by their users so to speak :-) Otherwise, a good piece of work
4.   18-10-2009 Nothing that would really touch me, and bordering on being far-fetched if I'nm asked, but technically your best shot ever - and even of this whole round if I'm asked. Excellent work with light & shadow. - C.Lipka
