Image description
Somewhere in the future.......
Humans have wreaked havoc on the nature, depleting resources and leading all other flora and fauna to extinction.
Nature has borne enough all these years...Now it's the time for it to retaliate....time for it to eliminate it's own creation, the humans........
The land which had once been a fertile plane is now oozing lava. Humans in the huge artificial cities are now forced to protect themselves against the extreme forces of the nature.
And now, the end is near...........
Description of how this image was created
I had almost reached the deadline when i first came across this site.......this is a hurried up image and not still perfect.
So sorry if i failed to follow the original concept.
I had just 2 days to finish all modelling, texturing and rendering.....The first 3 rendering attempts failed miserably due to power outages....this is the fourth attempt......
Some of the city models and the dome is from the internet [Thanks to the original creators :)].
The whole scene itself was lagging in sketchup as each city model is highly detailed. So most of the time was wasted in navigating around the scene.

This image is a hurried up one and cannot be perfect. I just wanted to enter into this contest coz i could share my CG images with u guys coz many of u seem to be really experienced. After all im just a 16 year old school student who tryin to keep up with both school and creatin CGI.
Your comments and suggestions are most welcome.........And thanks for supporting a newbie....

Hi Chandan, I don't usually comment but since you asked: I think this is a great image and you clearly have talent. I think it would have been improved if a bump map had been put on the pattern for the lava and the water but that's all. Very good first try and looking forward to your future contributions.

What can I say? A 16-yerar-old throwing something like this together in Google Sketchup in just a short time... Chapeau! as the French say. As for the technical quality - this is very hard to tell. For a realistic scene there's still a long way to go - unless you were aiming at depicting a cardboard & wire model or something, in which case this is freakin' awesome. Keep up the good work! (but improve on your English writing :))

Given the claim that it is unfinished I think that this is a really nice image. The only thing that stands out to me straight away as needing more work is the lava surface. I certainly sympathise with you on account of being hurried to finish my image and also with trying to keep up with work and making CGI
