Image description

1. Man evolved within Nature through evolutionary processes.

2. Through its own doings, Man left the natural order.

3. One day, Nature will take control again.

Description of how this image was created

An intentionally simple and 'naked' image. The Dystopia set (Daz) was used as environment. Its material maps were heavily edited, in particular with the proceduralize macro by Jaime Vives Piqueres. To suggest the background fire and smoke, an image map made with Apophysis (fractal generation) as HDRI map. The Poser figure was posed with the help of Poser Physics. Radiosity as usual. To remove jaggies, heavy anti-aliasing was used.

Comments by members when rating this image
1.   23-06-2009 To make this image more powerful you could have placed the corpse closer to camera instead of using 1/3 of the image for an empty foreground. Or alternatively simply cut the foreground out altogether by moving the camera closer to the ground. I like the lighting and the interpretation a lot.
2.   18-06-2009 The simplistic geometry of the buildings detract from the image's enjoyment. Texturing looks good but it seems to have a grainy feel.
3.   17-06-2009 Intriguing concept. But the "second" building seems weird to me - the shadow seems to cut the facade and reflections in two, which really keeps distracting me. The greebles on the "first" building are a bit too regular for my taste, too. (And please, next time don't let Simon leave home with those ugly default clothes :P)
4.   16-06-2009 I like the ideas however I get the definite feeling that if as much work had gone into the pavements and street as into the buildings then this image would have been more artictically pleasing. I just want to see signs of nature truly taking over the man made environment.
