Image description
Dreamt up in a dark mood, a pessimistic view of mankind’s inexorable progress - A spring tide, flood, storm, whatever, has revealed a flint axe in the silt under a bridge. A MiG fighter screams overhead - The imagery between the MiG and the relics is too obvious to mention, but really the title is in the big, ugly, unyielding bridge. It symbolises endless generations of man, repeating itself yet always moving forward, remorselessly heading to who knows where - And now I must get my optimism back. I do have an opposite view I am hoping to enter.
Description of how this image was created
The difficulty with this scene was making the axe recognisable as a weapon. I looked at lots of images on Google but in the end I just had to accept that stone-age axe-heads look rather like... stones. The axe head is a blob object. For those who use POV-Ray I literally chiselled out a flattened cylinder with negative spheres. The silt is a height field. The skull is the excellent (if too expensive) Daz morphing skull. I actually morphed it back 3 million years which is probably a bit too far for the stone age but what the heck - it’s a picture not a history lesson - come to that I have never seen an infinite bridge either. The bridge (loosely based on the Coleman Bridge) is CSG. I am sure I could have drawn the MiG if I had had to (honest) but I found a free model on the net and then added afterburner effect with media.

Good job on the flint. Lousy job on the skull & soil. Good job on the bridge. Lousy job on the background. Interesting concept. Lousy image. You can do better (as you have proven with your other shot).

I don't like saying this but it seems to me that largely you have just pasted other peoples models in a fairly random fashion
