Image description
After all wars, murders and battles the mankind has driven a planet to its final state: no people, no alarums and excursions, no disturbance - lifeless deserts lasting miles and miles away... And only sharks which went almost unchanged over the millions year of evolution still visiting these places, admiring traces of lapsed might...
Description of how this image was created
Sea floor is a heightfield created in Geomorph, tank and shark were taken from web a long time ago (unfortunately, don't remember exact site) and retextured. Building is a pure CSG. Water is a hollow plane with absorbing and scattering media (it was really a pain to adjust them, since I had to use photon mapping in order to achieve light beams shining through water).

Reminds me a bit of Water World (Kevin Costner Film.) Nice work on the beam effect.

You did a good job on the water. Very believable.

I wuld like to congratulate you on something which I certainly failed on and most other people clearly struggled with: creating a realistic underwater look. Your scene stands out technically due to the realism of the water in comparison to other images entered this round.

Tremendous job at the lighting! The subtle rainbow effect really hits it, technically. The house is not bad either, although a bit more variation in the windows would have been good. The tank's not too convincing though. An interpretation very topical to these times - although on a second thought rather timeless, unfortunately.

The concept is good and original, but the topic is not really exploited for all that. The light beams are nice with the wavelength effect, but the shark's shadow would have been important here. We miss a little bit of depth because of that. Not a killer overall, but still a good one to me.
