Image description
Horizontally, Black and white and colours give rhythm in this work. Vertically, The natural world is opposite to the artificial world. Diagonally, regular shapes and textures put contrast into unpredictable shapes and textures. On the left side, the animal kingdom is opposite to mineral and vegetable kingdoms. On the right side, old contruction is opposite to futuristic contruction. In a detail, reflexion and action are around a chess game. Finally, in the middle, the most important in this work, the world of visual perception gives contrast to the world of mind representations.
Description of how this image was created
The idea came to me in a street of London. I made the tree with POV-Tree 1.5. I made people, Skirt, boots, and cow with Poser. I made another objects with Wings3D or TopMod or CSG. I placed the columns with six iterations of the Hilbert curve (Java)

1.   30-08-2008 This is not a checkered pattern competition, so I say disqualified. Just kidding. Technical is strong, but I would have liked that you used a camera angle that doesn't align the belts perfectly with the horizon line. It seems to kill the depth. I just can't go into the picture only because of that. Overall I don't like it very much because it looks like just too random and confusing. Unlike all your previous entries, I don't think this one is really beautiful. The left side is wonderful, but the middle part is rather scary, and the right side is not really better. You could use a bit of fog to hide the very annoying noise of the background clouds.
2.   28-08-2008 I wonder how far you can go with this style. It's always nice to see what you come up with.
3.   27-08-2008 I have to confess... I have trouble "getting" this one. There certainly is a lot of contrast, but there's so much going on there doesn't seem to be a single theme. However, reading the description, I do see you have a plan. It's just quite hard to grasp. Perhaps there's *too much* contrast? Other than the overall busy feeling of the image, things seem to be well placed, well thought out, and well executed. The technical aspects are fairly well done (although the checkered cow bothers me ;) The "future construction" part doesn't seem to have quite the technical quality of the rest. A fairly good image, but not one for me.
4.   27-08-2008 Very surreal...
5.   18-08-2008 well done indeed! Surrealism has no secrets for you and you integrated perfectly the theme of this competition with your creations.
6.   18-08-2008 The supernatural feel of the picture is something which doesn't really please my eye but that is my personal perception. On a technical front and when considering the contrasts displayed I feel you have created a marvellous picture. Nice work.
7.   17-08-2008 Heh, that's just cool. I wish I could think of bizarre, surrealistic scenes like this. I do think the bowling ball detracts a bit. It seems rather heavy to be placed in the lower right corner like that, drawing my eye down unnecessarily. Also, with the sky texture mapped to a plane, it gets rather fussy and busy in the distance. The textures are incredible. My favorite figures are the main ones, with the bumpy, shiny texture and glassy eyes. The construction on the right is a bit hard to make out; I'm still not quite sure what the metallic figures are. I did like the checkered cow, though, especially with the shadows behind it. Overall, neat image!
8.   15-08-2008 There is certainly enough contrast in the image. I'm not entirely certain if contrast is the first impression on seeing the picture.
9.   07-08-2008 Who does that remind me of?
