Image description
It's 1839. They have started building the first bridge of Budapest. The Danube has been deflected and one of the pillars has been already built. A ceremony will be held here in the pillar for laying the foundation-stone. Hundreds of celebrities will be invited.
Description of how this image was created
With the help of God. The image is based on Miklos Barabas's painting entitled 'Laying the Foundation-Stone of the Chain Bridge'. The structure was modeled with Blender. The man was made with MakeHuman. His clothes are hand-made: I modeled them from copies of the parts of the body. I'm sorry I couldn't render a high-quality image before the deadline.

Comments by members when rating this image
1.   25-06-2008 Hard to distinguish if the wooden structure is actually the bridge or not. Nice textures.
2.   18-06-2008 The space is well reproduced. What I feel is missing is the immediate evidence that this is related to a bridge. Could be any construction pit.
