The king's daughter was terribly upset to find it storming on her wedding day. The king was determined to make his princess happy, so he called upon the greatest wizard of the land, known as the Black Robe. Surely the wizard would demand a hefty price and the king told the wizard that he was willing to give up anything in his kingdom for a sunny day...
Description of how this image was created
This story was largely inspired by the final two movements of Beethoven's 5th symphony. The human models were posed with DAZ|Studio. Some of the more complicated motions and camera work were done with POV-Ray. DAZ|Studio had problems with lots of models in the same scene, so those scenes were also done in POV-Ray. Animation sequences were compiled using Bink. Sorry it's not an mpeg file, Windows Movie Maker was the only tool I had that could use to shrink the file to under 12 MB. This was largely an attempt at synchronizing the action with a pre-existing musical score. The last part (from the wizard's first spell onwards has an uninterrupted soundtrack); the first part has several snippets taken from the third movement of the symphony. A few lessons I learned (the hard way) doing this project: * keep track of the number of frames in each scene - that way you can tell how far you are into the music * try to make the human's movements nonlinear - in many cases they look too robotic (this includes the camera motion too) * storyboard the action - break down the action into a number of scenes * create "baseline" models first and finalize the textures - I had cases where the textures on some of the models had changed in different scenes

1.   31-08-2007 In terms of problems noticed, there's little to add to what you've already mentioned in your description.
